Short answer:  the only pics I had wouldn't fit the cover.  ;D  And being I finished the book in December there would be no new photos forthcoming.

But since you asked...(Facebook links, so they will expire soon)

I can see why you had problems with the brakes.

The cam levers are fairly advanced on the front. And the rear may look about half wore out. Is that what you are seeing , Frank? Anyhoo, good effort ddavidd, you saved another Bullet Original from the scrap heap.

Yup! front is past the 90 degrees optimum leverage point, even at rest, the rear is well past, to the point of being virtually useless.
Resetting them should make quite a difference.
In fairness, David does say that he is a novice with bike mechanics.

I'm not certain when that last picture was taken but I think it may be how they currently are. I've had them apart so many times and changed the adjustment I'm no longer sure.

I have not touched the rear other than setting the pedal height.

The front currently works reasonably well and much better than my initial descriptions in the book. The only thing I find poor about it is repeated stopping seems to make them heat up pretty quickly.

The angle between the cable or rod and the lever should never be more that 90 degrees. Once it has gone past 90 degrees, you are losing leverage.
Ideally, it should be a 90 when the brake is fully applied but that is not always possible.
The rear one in particular need taking off it's splines and moving round a bit.
The front ones could do with moving a spline or so back too.
