Hi Folks,

Had my GT 650 delivered yesterday. Unfortunately, I realized later that the bike is making a persistent screeching noise from the front wheel. Is this a normal part of the bedding in process? I am attaching a video link (please watch with audio on). Appreciate any help/tips. I live far from a dealer and it will be a major hassle to get the bike to them for inspection.

Thank you!

Hello mate, congrats on the new bike and welcome to the forum. That noise, not normal. You better have a look at it. BTW where you posted is the forum for CGT 535 single. There's another section for owners of the 650, you might get more responses there. Good luck.

Sounds like it could be a crapped out wheel bearing

Many of us have had a persistent squeak from the front wheel.  I think most of the time pulling the front wheel and greasing the speedo drive, axle and spacer fixes it.  That worked on mine and many other members had the same results.

You might try a search.

Definitely have your dealer take a look. I'm someone who has always worked on my own bikes but you just bought it and there should be no reason they wouldn't take a look for free. My dealer went over everything that was checked on my bike and done when I requested it.

This may already have been sorted by the OP, since he posted it 3 weeks ago, but it certainly doesn't sound like a wheel bearing - more like a baby chick instead!  ;)

If the dealer delivered it to your house like that, shameful in itself, then they should bring tools and come to you to fix it, or transport it both ways again at no charge. Seems like not a good place to take it for service from first impressions. They are dead easy to work on though, so maybe the OP needs to do whatever services he is capable of himself.

Don'tcha hate it when questions get asked, replies are offered and then the OP never shows up to tell us what the resolution was?

Maybe a PM to this OP is required.

Personally I think it's rude, and it certainly doesn't help build the knowledge base. One of the reasons I offer the occasional suggestion is to try and find out what the common problems are and what fixes them. Without feedback I'm just posting for drill.

Good point, or perhaps he hasn't tried any of our suggestions yet, but at some point the polite thing to do is post a response.
