RE650's are not the easiest, even with good technique. but not so bad with practice.

Just a reminder, I don't have the lift handle mounted since I have the side saddles on, but it's a child game to grab the upper tube of the pillion's footrest triangle, push on the center stand while you pull that tube up and you're done. Try it, you'll be surprised ...  ;)

Yes....grabbing lower on the bike can be helpful and make it easier.

I went out for a ride & gassed up about 45 miles from home. After fueling up there was no power when turning the key, kill switch position made no difference. I wheeled the bike into the shade for 5 minutes then tried again, Bingo! And it got me home.

I'll be spending my afternoon cleaning the white grease out of every connector I can find.

The sun was out so I put on shorts and washed it. And about time too.

Honda DOHC 450 ("Black Bomber"),

Then I stopped riding for 40+ years :-(

I’ve ordered a RE sump plate and a TEC oil-cooler guard. I’ve done my homework on lever guards and off-road tires, so I’ll be ready for some serious on and off-road touring when the spring comes around.

Mounted the Hepco-Becker pillion footrest extension, now I can take a passenger without removing the side bags, cool !
And a nice finish too.

Installed ST2 Smart Brake system today. Because there is little horizontal space under the saddle, I designed a holder myself and 3D printed it.

tbh i think the side panel would have looked better as solid red. i get the intention, but it now breaks the main line running through the bike. this is just the ex-designer in me talking.

Very nice! Fantastic that you created the holder!

Disagree! Carrying out the theme looks perfect. Solid red would look as out of place as the solid black was.
