I’ve noticed that the red side panels make the black frame tubes much more pronounced than the black panels, a look I really like.
Probably why the 535 CGT came out with body coloured side covers: 'cause it looks better that way. They could have probably saved a few rupees making them all black but to their credit they did the right thing. (also they were only available in Red at the start so there's that....)

Gone in 60,

interesting idea and I agree about tying in that silvery light grey. So I enlarged the front fender, which in turn, needed more rear fender.
Something still looked odd. Then I saw it: the sharp side panel corners needed rounding off. Finally, I tied in the tank with a coloured knee pad.

Thanks for inspiring some fun finger-painting in my ipad.   :)

Got the stickers, thanks so much Jess! My plan is to paint the tank, side covers, and fenders all royal purple.

Side panels matching the colour of the tank would be an optional extra on some bikes !
