As some of you may be aware, my Magora switchgear fell to pieces while I was stupidly tinkering when I shouldn't have.
I ordered a set of '50's style levers and throttle unit from India, I also ordered a switch unit from China at the same time, interestingly, they arrived a day apart.
They have been here a while, but I have been a bit busy with the engine, that is done, so I have got cracking on the controls.
So the new 50's style controls are fitted, I had a front brake cable that fitted, that a supplier had sent in error when I needed a Magora one. I also had a clutch cable from the same source, the ends were ok, but it is about a foot too short? I thought these bikes were roughly the same size? So I have modified a nipple out of my emergency repair kit, and soldered it onto the original Magora type end, and it works, but I'll have to source a proper cable just in case.
The mirrors fitted perfectly, one r/h thread, the other l/h thread.
The throttle cable fitted perfectly.
I originally got a chrome switch unit, I like chrome, off the bike it looked nice, unfortunately not so fitted, so I got a black one, I think this looks perfect, fortunately, these are as cheap as chips, £10 ish and they only took a week or so to get here.
Obviously the wiring needed Lucas type bullets soldering on, this is done and the colours and functions are identified, I am now halfway through wiring it in.
Hopefully I'll get it finished tomorrow, I'll try to get her de-greased and washed and get some pictures taken, I am very happy with the result, I like the 'vintage' look.

I didn't manage to get any wiring done today, but I did give her a bath, and I got a few pics taken of the controls.

Looks like the black version of my chrome one on Not A Fury. Sort of a bloated Wipac Ducon.

Yes, that's the same as the chrome one I have got. They look really good, but the scheme of my bike is black and chrome, and the chrome switch just didn't look right, I'll stick up a couple of gratuitous pics, see what you think.

With both black AND chrome on there either would work.

Yes, I thought so, but after the Magura unit, it just didn't look right to me.

I was browsing ebay and found these Electra parking lamps advertised...!?! They may not be for everyone, but they look sturdy enough...  :o

Well probably quite a few actually, but you might block a lot of oilways as well.
