It just occurred to me, some people may find this helpful:
I'm not lucky enough to have a garage in the city, and we've suffered some mighty cold nights this winter. A couple months ago it got really, really cold and I forgot to add fuel antifreeze to my gas, so my fuel line froze solid.
The trick is to apply warmth without direct heat to the fuel line. (I've never tried it, but I assume even frozen gasoline explodes . . .) So I poured some rice into the toe of a sock and knotted the end. I tossed that into the microwave for a couple minutes to get it nice and warm, then I took that out and nestled it against the fuel line and carb for a while. Bingo! That did the trick almost immediately.
Hope that helps somebody some day. (All our tropical friends out there, quit laughing!)
