Hi all,
I would like to replace the bulky original speedo/revcounter cluster with a digital speedo (Daytona-Velona). Has anyone done this on his CGT 535? Is it pretty forward or likely to cause some trouble with the electrical system?
I am grateful for every hint, cheers!

Not on the GT but I have done on Other Bikes. My helpful hint is to see if you can track down what wiring connector RE used to plug into the clock body. If you can find a matching receptacle for the wiring loom plug, you can wire the Daytona clock to that receptacle and simply plug it into the existing wiring loom. That looks a lot tidier than cut n shut heatshrinked wires and is worth the effort. Good luck and happy hunting.

Hi Simon, thanks for the encouragement! I guess it won't do any harm to study the wiring loom before I start to molest the Conti...

This will be helpful as well... :D

-Batterie 12V
-Acc 12V
-Gnd
Shouldn't be a problem.
But where do I pick up the "Speed Pulse"?
Is it the black/white cable that connects the wheel speed sensor with the Instrument cluster?

At a wild guess, I'd say that they might mean the magnet that you attach to the wheel that provides a signal to the speed sensor. I usually glue it to the brake disc with epoxy.

Looks like you can buy a converter that lets you use the OG mechanical speedo drive if you want to spend more money?

Hi Simon, I guess you are right - that's the easiest way to install it...
I will give some feedback as soon as the job is done. Thanks for your input!

Why not use the stock wheel speed sensor?

The "BL/W" cable that connects the wheel sensor with the instrument cluster?

Yes it should be a blue wire with a white stripe that sends the wheel speed signal to the instrument cluster.
The 3 wire speed signal, usually will have a positive feed, a ground / negative feed and a speed signal output.
Have a look through the documentation of your new speedometer, the GT535 speed sensor will most likely need to be calibrated to your digital speedometer and you would also need to know the circumference of the tyre.

I like that idea too. Means spending more $ though, assuming they make an adapter that works with the Enfield speedo drive.

Thanks Guys!
My workshop is a mess, I lost the instructions. But there is information available in the WWW...
The task seems manageable, I do a try and error with the BLUE/white cable.
Thanks again!
