Looks like just what I wanted when I bought my 350 meteor.
I have my interceptor now though and am made up with that so won’t be swapping again.
I’m anticipating this being more expensive than the existing 650 models listening to the sales patter from the design team.

I can't help thinking that this new bike looks so heavy.  It will be interesting to see what it really weighs.  I don't trust any factory figures as they usually are "dry weight" figures.   Anyone here ride a bike with no fluids in it?

You don't stop riding motorcycles because you got old; you got old because you stopped riding motorcycles.

With the factory claiming 241kg/532lbs with a 90% full fuel tank I’d say 535-540lbs real-world weight is a reasonable conclusion. RE doesn’t appear to exaggerate too badly when it comes to specs - unlike some other companies who apparently bake their bikes in an oven to wring out every drop of fluid then fill the tires with helium before they roll them on the scales!

Hopefully the next 650 we see is a Classic/Bullet version based on the Meteor - move the pegs a bit rearward, trim down the fenders, swap out the bars for something a bit flatter and there you go!

The Super Meteor could be a big success for RE in North America - we do seem to really love our cruisers.

I think I would like to see a ‘Hunter 650’. Put the Interceptor on a serious diet, 17” tubeless wheels etc.

Genuine, boring cruiser design. Seen ten times already elsewhere, and almost looks like a Triumph Speedmaster copy. Nothing distinct.

Too bad, I was hoping for a cool retro scrambler.

I guess this is going to excite some but it’s not for me.  Heavier and uglier and worse handling than the Interceptor. You’d have to really want a cruiser. I guess a fair choice for those short in the leg and the build quality looks a step forward.  Maybe I can get those adjustable levers onto my Interceptor?

You’d have to assume it’s in the works.  The other thing for export markets would be a higher capacity more powerful engine with twin front discs etc..

Agree. Makes you wonder where the target market is. Certainly too big and expensive for the domestic market...

Really nice looking cruiser for that price range! It could do really well as long as its not too expensive in international markets. India love the 350s so not aimed for that market. A 650 classic would be nice as would a more powerful single cylinder Bullet. Singles still Rock :)

Not a fan. Looks a tried a true concept done by most manufacturers for the past 3 decades to break into the cruiser market. No doubt they'll sell.
Its very heavy at 240kgs with 90% fuel. Especially for a 650cc.

When I saw the name I was hoping it was inspired on the Original Super Meteor 692. But that's where the comparisons end. The name. Good on RE for expanding their market. But hopefully we'll see new models inspired on past ones again.
