Hi guys and girls
Just spent the last 5 weeks traveling around india and noted that RE's really rule the roads over there. Saw thousands of 350 classics and to a lesser extent the bullet and the thunderbird. Most are the 350cc unit construction fuel injected motor version. They are super popular! Older bullets are still around but much more rarer in comparison. The 350 classic UCE is a sales success and everyone who is anyone has one. I only saw 3 650s on the road and some in store. They are not that popular and are expensive. i have attached a couple of piccies noting that I love the iron barrel.

I will be interested in seeing what the new Himalayan weighs. With the increase in displacement and horse power it makes it more of a contender for me  as an adventure travel bike should I downsize from my current GS which for some odd reason gets a little heavier every year.

The new Hunter 350 is going to be huge on the Indian domestic market.

The KTM EXC-Fs are 35 HP, 240 lbs. for the 350 & 58 HP and 250 lbs. for the 500. It seems reasonable that the new clean sheet counterbalanced liquid cooled EFI'd RE 450 LC will hit 40 HP and 300 lbs. That gives RE 50 pounds of mass to save money on materials with, and only getting about 2/3rds the HP of the KTM seems doable by many clever EFI tuners here. If they can do this for about $5500 vs. the $11K to $14K for the KTM they'll fly off of the shelves. A 300 lb. "Supermotard-ish Scram" street variant would make a very nice street bike.

When i was in India 3 weeks ago I did not see many REs in Delhi, mostly small scooters. But in the mountain areas there were 350 RE most exclusively. I rented one for a week. Nice bike.
