All,
Attached is the Torque Spec Master Sheet that I decided to put together. It took a couple of hours to go through the entire service manual. Using the service manual available on this forum, I highly recommend you download the service manual and "Index" it in order to help search results come up 10000% times faster (immediately).

The document is put together in the order the service manual calls out the torque value items. Option to filter in excel allows the ability for you to search keywords or any other details in each column.

I have added a column for lb/ft, which is converted and rounded to the whole number. You can see the formula in the cell.

In order to check for errors, I have included the following column names: Name, Torque Spec (N-m), Torque Spec (lb/ft), Allen/Socket, Size, Notes. If items required specific tools or notes in which I have found stated in the manual I wrote down. There is only 1 line item that has a funny... "HEGO (02) Sensor" torque was weird to find in the manual.

I hope this tool saves you all time to quickly find torque specifications needed. As you find errors or name corrections, please let me know and I will try to update.

That's about spot-on with what I put together.  Went page by page through the manual, also.  Nice job!

If anyone hasn't already downloaded the full service manual - do it!
Takes a minute or two, but you'll find it's invaluable.

Great stuff!!!

If I could suggest:
Group in headings - engine, chassis, wheels etc....
A column for In/lbs would be nice for the values say under 20 ft/lbs.

I will add the In/lb and update link. Should be. Quick fix. The headings would be more of a preference for some as I just quick filter search by name or sort alphabetical and do a quick find as well.

Link UPDATED - Included in/lbs for all torque values as reference.

Tentative update: Considering taking the time to add a Page number where the Torque value is provided in the service manual. (Idea provided to me as an example from "drums4money")

I have to give credit to drums4money. He provided me his example of a similar sheet. I used his sheet to combine into mine, then added the ones in which I could not match manually. Either way, I will lean on the group's support to catch any errors or details that need to be updated.

Either way, let me know if you want to see any further updates on the document.

I am unable to modify the original post, so I wanted to show you all how to index the PDF Service Manual to search instantly. Below I have found a link that walks you through the process and also shows you an example of Index vs. Non-Index.

If an admin can copy and paste this information or link to the original post, that would make it easier for those who read it for the first time  8)

Not that it matters terribly, but I've noticed that the fasteners on my bike sometimes differ from what is listed in the shop manual.  For example, today I discovered that my front caliper bolts require a 13 mm socket, not 14.

I realized some of the members are having a difficult time with index of service manual. I have gone ahead and saved the file indexed already and uploaded for all to have a copy and share.

I attempted to delete the file that I  had on my computer and download the file I have shared. The Index function does not attach with the sent file. It must be a "local" save.

Here is a link that may help those that may not have Adobe Acrobat Pro.

I hope this helps.

Updated: Included "Front Fork Pinch Bolt". Item was not called out in the Service Manual but drums4money found this spec being called out in the service manual. The allen size is not listed. Either way, it has been updated as the last line item on the link.

ENJOY!

Thanks BlackIce. The manual lists it as a M6/ 6mm bolt requiring a 5mm Allen key.
Ps, I'd update this info in the torque table myself but you have it set it as read only

A suggestion rather than an error: Please make clear that the "Size" column refers to the size of the bolt (eg 6mm/M6) and not the size of the Allen key required to loosen/ tighten it (ie 5mm). I made this mistake (which is easy for a noob to do as the adjacent column specifies socket or Allen key). Zim kindly corrected me ;)

Haven't checked in on this for many months.

May the sheet be updated to include a note about the scary-high valve cover shoulder bolt spec?  Other forum posts acknowledge that hand tight is sufficient.  They'll likely snap at the spec published in the service manual.

Many thanks for this. I'm about to buy myself a torque wrench, and it gives me an idea of what torques I'm likely to encounter. 35 Nm for the magnetic drain plug is the important one. I don't think I'll be touching the magneto rotor on the crankshaft, so no need to look for a wrench that can do 155 Nm.

I had to do a helicoil (thread repair) on one cam/rocker cover screw hole. Sorted that, refitted the cover and another one stripped  ::). It's not leaking so that will get done next tappet check.

Thank you for the great work.

Hello,

Been reading on how some of the torque values in the shop manual may be too high.  Looking at doing the 300 mile service and noticed the values for things like the valve covers and oil drain plug value match this sheet with the manual. Are those the "corrected" numbers or are they still considered too high?

Thanks!
