Title: 1951 500cc Royal Enfield
Post by: rockdrj on August 20, 2010, 11:07:27 pm
Hello all,

I'm looking at purchasing a 1951 Royal Enfield with a 500cc twin engine.  The bike is all there, in very good physical condition.  However, there is some engine damage (broken connecting rod, and perhaps cylinder skirt).

Does anyone out there have an idea of the value of this bike?   Are parts available for the 500cc twin engines?

I do know that this bike was built in Redditch, England.

Any help that you could offer will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Rock Doc

According to the last value guide they run from $1200 to$6000 depending on condition. I don't think with the shape the motor is in it would be worth more than $1500 -$2000.   ERC

If anyone else is interested in purchasing the same 1951 Enfield (wink wink) it might be polite to mention it in here lest some unfriendly competition take place.
