Title: kick start c5?
Post by: csbdr on April 29, 2009, 02:39:30 pm
I know, this was ditched on the C5 and issue has been covered.  BUT, my dealer, when I ordered, was telling me that when he attended the training on the UCE engine, there was a HUGE number of dealer complaints about the missing kicker, and he was hopeful for a design change by the time the bikes arrive here.

Wishful thinking? or maybe there could be....?

I wouldn't bank on it.

I've also read an account recently, on a UK forum, where the owner of an E5 was not thrilled with the way the kickstart worked(or didn't work) on his bike, and he felt that the kickstarter on his bike was not suitably functional to do the job, and has used the E-start to start the bike.

I'd like to know what T120Rbullet thinks about his kickstarter on his G5.

interesting....I have to say, though, that I'm REALLY glad to have the backup of a kicker on my Ural. course with that bike, the estart rarely works and the kicker works every  time!

Kicking mine is pretty easy.
With the auto de-compressor it kinda makes it like kicking a twin as in you don't have to bring it up to just past tdc every time. You just fold the pedal out and kick.

All that said I usually just hit the button, it works a lot easier.
I know, I'm getting soft.
