The high efficiency lifestyle is awaiting us, might be time to start planting potatoes and growing chicken on your balcony if you happen to live in Stockholm, the way they used to do it in Eastern Germany?

A quick one told by the great Billy Connolly

In the Olympic park he saw a guy carrying a very big stick.
He said "are you a pole vaulter?"
The guy replied "No, I'm German, but how did you know my name is Walther?"

Snakes are less slippery than you might think.  As a kid brought up in the Aussie bush we soon learnt snakes were just as likely to be sunning on a window sill or on a picnic table as they are to be stretched out on the ground.

Looks like the runners-up pix for the Darwin Awards... ( https://darwinawards.com/ )

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_handling_in_Christianity#:~:text=Snake%20handling%2C%20also%20called%20serpent,part%20in%20the%20church%20service.
Snake handling, also called serpent handling, is a religious rite observed in a small number of isolated churches, mostly in the United States, usually characterized as rural and part of the Holiness movement. The practice began in the early 20th century in Appalachia and plays only a small part in the church service. Participants are Holiness, Pentecostals, Charismatics, or other evangelicals. The beliefs and practices of the movement have been documented in several films and have been the impetus for a number of state laws related to the handling of venomous animals.

When I was a young boy I had a fear of snakes and never picked them up like my friends did. As an adult I'm OK with them now and will move non poisonous variety's out of harms way by picking them up. I don't get too many rattlers where I live but occasionally I'll get one in the walkway or somewhere they shouldn't be and those I'll gingerly nudge on their way with a very long stick!
