Just cleaned/replaced air filter and breather tube of G5 and thought I make a video for the benefit of new owners of RE.
I hope that Youtube does not block the video or mute the music, as they have done sometimes. I wish for a good source of music that does not cause copyright issues.

I wasn't fond of the idea that there is a direct path for dirt to enter the filter housing on my G5.
That "drain hole" is unfiltered and it is on the low pressure side of the air filter so any airflow thru it can carry dirt directly into the throttle body and engine.
To keep this from happening I took a small piece of a lawn mower air filter sponge and dampened it with a small bit of oil and then crammed it into the drain outlet.
It would still allow any fluids that might be inside the filter box to drain out but the air that enters the box is at least partly cleaned by the sponge.

I like your idea of plugging the drain hole with an air filter sponge, moistened lightly with oil. Thanks for great suggestion, as always.

Made a foam air filter plug for drain hole of air-filter housing to stop or minimize dust entering into throttle body, as suggested by Jim.

Ah-yup. That's what I did. :)
It probably doesn't make a lot of difference, especially in a wet climate but here in Arizona where we get less than 6 inches of rain a year there is a lot of dust in the air. Most of it is kicked up by cages traveling down the paved roads.
