Title: Air/Fuel Ratio Monitors
Post by: Chasfield on April 15, 2010, 05:21:19 pm
I was just looking around the K & N web site. They sell these neat Air/Fuel ratio meters. You can analyse your air/fuel mixture settings over all load/throttle settings.

I think one of those would take the uncertaintly out of setting up your carb.

I have always gone by plug color and throttle response.
an oxygen sensor would have to be welded into the headpipe

Hmm, that would be awkward for a permanent install. I guess you could fit a sensor to an old head pipe and put that on the bike as required for carb set-up.

I couldn't see a price at K&N but 170 USD was mentioned here:

Which also gives some interesting technical information, including details of a cheapo, home brewed version.

the old skool color tune works on my n-line 4. get all four chambers the same color and then sync. less tweaking=more riding.
