Title: Removing Spark plug from UCE Twin spark engine
Post by: BlrGuy on March 10, 2013, 02:52:40 pm
Hi,

I need help in removing the right hand side spark plug from the Bullet Electra USE Twinspark engine.  The space for the spark plug is too small for the tool to slide into.  How does one remove the spark plug in this case?  Appreciate if anyone can point me to pictures or videos on how to remove the spark plug from a Bullet UCE twinspark engine.

Simple matter of misunderstanding?

There is no RHS spark plug.
Single engine, single spark.
The spark has 2 electrodes, just as the sparks used in propeller planes. Safer because less chance of misfiring and smoother running.

It is my understanding that in India they sell Twinspark engines which do have a second spark plug.  The hole is machined on the right side of the cylinder head where the single spark plug engines have an open area between the valve covers.

This idea is a carry over from some of the older iron barrels that in India, were also equipped with a second spark plug.

In my opinion, this second spark plug is totally useless but the people in India think it is a big bonus to have.  Maybe, with their poor fuels it helps but I seriously doubt it.

Anyhow, I think this second spark plug has a different number and I wouldn't be surprised to find that it also has a smaller hex size.  That would allow a smaller wrench to be used to remove it.
If I'm right, that could be the answer to the OP's question?

Doesn't the tubular spanner work?

                                                   2                3

Try the no. 2 and 3 combo..or this doesn't fit either?  :o

Sorry, my mistake. :-[
Two spark plugs. Models only in India.
I was under the impression those were not UCE.

The owner's manual for the Electra Twin Spark does not list part no. for spark one and two.
In the tool bag however is besides the -familiar to us- tubular spanner & tommy bar also another smaller spark tool. Could this be the one OP needs for that secondary plug?

In the diagram JVS showed, no.2 is for main spark plug. For the secondary plug, there is one more socket, thinner and much longer. This will be provided by RE
