That turned out great!  I love the old style black and gold colors.  Do they press the letters into the metal?

In WA state they have gone to using what looks like adhesive letters and numbers, or they could be painted.

The bike is looking good too.   I also have Chrome / Maroon.  I could be biased, but it is my favorite, although I've never seen a color I don't like! :)

Thank you Scotty; Narada.  It turned out well.

The regular white plates are still stamped and so are the legacy 60s style black and yellow.  Some bikes and some cars should have a black plate.  The Enfield just looks right with an old plate on it.

Had a guy the other day ask if my C5 was a '66 or '67.  He said he couldn't tell.  As the light turned green and I putted away I yelled, "....'56."

Since we seem to be talking plates here ... probably most meaningful to those in the UK.  :)

Perfect.

Smoked a rear wheel bearing on the Dyno the other day. So I replaced them all around with with Japanese made Nachi bearings.

Damned!  I hate that.

Come staggering into class only half awake and the instructor says, "Test today".  >:(

Those bearings looked like they've seen better days.

At least, I hope they looked better at one time. ;D

Yeah not good.  But, I was actually surprised  at how well the brake drum and inner wheel bearing looked and felt  considering the abuse. :o   India made stock bearings BTW.    Even the grease looked brand new.  I'm a bit impressed ?  The outer left (center in the pic) not so much. ::)    The torque on the right side and on the Dyno drum,  racked the axle a bit , tightened my chain, and must have pinched the bearing I think.....

Either that or the spacer is the wrong length for the distance between the two wheel bearings.
Never underestimate the value of improved combustion efficiency and reducing parasitic engine and rolling chassis losses.

Rode it hard in torrential rain, AM 26's excellent, and the bike's waterproof. So what are all these second hand ads with never ridden in the wet about?  ;)

I rode home in the rain for the last two days. I'm hoping I don't have to do it for day 3.

I like the Nachi quest bearings so far.... For like two days Maybe ?!  ::) LOL !  Very Honda like.   Buuuut, a buddy ordered up some Ceramics at cost for me today.... I wish he had said something sooner !  :o      What the hell, I'll give them a whirl....

Also tried out Gremlin's top secret spark mutater box for Mjolnir, on MY bike.  I'm liking it !  ;)

Well, I just rode my G5.  Beyond that, I really didn't do anything to my Royal Enfield today but, it did something.

It just passed 19,500 miles* on the odometer and it's still running like a champ. :)

Not too bad considering I've only replaced the rear chain, both tires and the battery along with a few light bulbs and one fuse.
Oh, I replaced the fuel level switch too but I don't use it.

*(That's 31,452 km for you folks who play with metrics.)
