Hello everybody!
Last week I just got my new G5 registered (or de Luxe, as it is called in Germany) and I´m still grinning all the time. Beatifull bike, i´m usually surrounded by a bunch of HondaKawaYamahaBmW-Hightech-Bikes - and I don´t care at all! RE just decelerates motorcycling to its basics, and that is a very nice experience to share with likeminded people. Greetings from Munich, Bavaria

Welcome Maturin, you have a fine machine. I too have the G5 DeLuxe, in the UK, just over three months now and 4000 miles, and still grinning also :D

Welcome, I have only had my C5 (USA) for a week, but I the same grin on my face. These bikes are a lot of fun and so far demonstrating very good quality.
Post a photo of your new ride as soon as you can.

Wie geht's, Maturin. Great choice on the bike,good luck with it. I hear the beer is pretty good in Bavaria, any chance you could maybe.......... Ah forget it.

Heres a short interim balance sheet after 600 km: loose connector on the injection system caused engine cutouts but was fixed within seconds. Oil leak at the shaft seal of the kickstarter shaft. Hm...the dealer told me its not a big thing. First maintanance next friday, he promised to fix it.
In southern Germany we have temperatures around 35°C in these days and nobody is realy used to that. I caught a could because of extensive use of the ac in my cab - omg. I perform raindances every evening.

That's not an oil leak Maturin - it's chain lube. I and others had the same thing. Clean it off and use dry chain lube - the black gunge will eventually disappear.
And STOP with the rain dance..... :-\

Hello from the Eifel (Trier area)! I just received my Electra in June. Be prepared for initial issues and quirks especially if you're used to more refined bikes (Thank you 2 year warranty). I have come to love the quirkiness and that engine thump just makes me smile! I took it to Cochem this morning for a coffee and parked where everyone parks their bikes and my bike got three times the looks of the other bikes...amusing! Oh yes, practice saying "I swear, it's baujahr 2010!"

You are right! The black-browne...stuff at the bottom of my Bullet is not a leak! Amazingly enough the kickstarter shaft seal is innocent. Well, but I´ve got anouther one ;D: at least a few drops of the precious fluid left my engine at the oil filter lid - puhh. I wouldn´t have felt comfortable if mine was hermetically sealed ;).

That black stuff will disappear after a few hundred miles, depending on what you put on the chain. I use the Wurth dry lube - no mess at all, brilliant stuff.
Hope the filter cover has stopped dribbling. Have you taken that thing off yet? Beware - there's a whole collection of sprung bits and pieces lying in wait behind it...... :o
