Title: ACE Air Cleaner Canister Mod
Post by: DavidMeermans on October 06, 2013, 10:42:02 pm
I have an '09 AVL with the ACE Air Cleaner Canister--a great addition, I think.  But, driving home in the rain, the air cleaner element became wet and stopped flowing air.  Not good, but I solved that, got home, and prepared a surround for the element that works well.  I have attached a PDF with description and photos.

Regards,

Dave M

Nifty solution, David!
After you cut the hole to size, lightly sand the edge, or better, use a heating element like a wood burner, soldering iron, or pencil torch with attachments to burnish the edge. This will virtually eliminate the small cracks that are left after using the hole saw, and leave you a much smoother edge.

That seems like a good solution, Dave.
Nice work, and thanks for showing it to others.
