Here you are. Your future government-approved single-track vehicle.  ::)

Nice fat tire - you can really get your 10 mile-per-hour lean on!

10mph?Some bitch at the DOT will want it to have a seat belt.  >:( And an aimable head light.  >:( And disk brakes.  >:( And ABS. >:(
The DOT required add-ons will probably not affect the top speed much. Maybe knock it back to 9mph?  ;)

Here is another future motorcycle for you. This one will be perfect when our roadways turn into just a collection of giant potholes.  ::)

I'm pretty sure Colin Furze has already perfected this technology.

Well, I suppose "perfected" isn't quite the right word...

A few modifications and it will be a great ground-effect lawn mower.  ;D

You are really going to love this version of your transportation future. The BICAR. This one developed by the Swiss. So you know it will be perfect and expensive. Probably not the best thing to be driving if you get into a dispute with someone driving an F150, though:  https://electricmotorcycles.news/the-bicar-a-new-innovative-swiss-urban-traffic-solution/

They can build what they want, if someone buys it is an all together another question.

I bet the Swiss will love it.  ;) Last night I had a nightmare about thousands of those things clogging a 4-lane freeway, all driving at  15 mph. Anyone happen to notice that the BICCAR's chassis seems to have quite a resemblance to those electric 3-wheel scooters made for mobility-challenged old folks?  :o

We shall see, we have now apparently people who burn other peoples cars or dash them or do some other damage. I'm sure you might heave read about it already, the news was all around the world.

So maybe if this thing is sold as extremely environmentaly friendly, the Swiss motorcyclist might be mandated to ride it, who know everything is possible those times.

There is nothing new under the sun.

This has been going on for years.

       And years. And years.

And they get away with it.

       And do it again.

I've just looked at the site you posted earlier Richard. This one looked somehow acceptable too as a racer, wouldn't mind trying it before turning too old for it.

https://electricmotorcycles.news/sarolea-manx7-the-ultimate-electric-super-bike/

It am not very happy that the press has declared all new bikes the likes of a Thruxton R to be retro bikes, just because they look good. That way you could call any new 911 Porsche a retro car and nobody would say that.

It is all about marketing and "retro" is just the latest trendy marketing term - along with "fake news".   ::)

Can't be too hard to stuff a bigger battery in it, or what about a ICE  ::)

I don't really want to get into speculation of the future of EV's but I think it's not going to be the same for bikes, cars or trucks, totally different markets. I like bikes because it is still about emotions and liking, four wheel vehicles are loosing on those soft values and human factors. Sure you can regulate the exhaust noise for example but you can't regulate if it's a pleasant noise or irritating one. And exactly here is the thing that makes the difference which is why some people buy a ducati and others an inline four japanese bike.

If you want to hear an irritating EV noise, check out the sound that an Energica electric motorcycle makes. It comes close to dragging your nails across a blackboard.  :o

....don't want to hear it, better do some other shed project.  ::)

...or take a nap. They soon going to attach a speaker to that bike anyway with a v-twin sound.

Truly innovative would be if it had a solar panel attached to the roof producing 100kW of power in darkness.  ;)

Here is an ad for the latest electric vehicle.   ;D

Propelled by sucking air through a nozzle mounted to the front of the vehicle - providing high stability in phases of high acceleration.

This latest never seen before technology makes an astounding acceleration of 0-6mph in 1 hour possible and guarantees the ultimate customer satisfaction. No gear changes, no shock absorbers and no brakes are required as the speed is perfectly regulated and controlled by the amount of air sucked in, confirming to the latest regulatory requirements.

Available to  every family with an income as low as 1.000.000$ per annum.  ::) ::) ::)

Long way to go for the EV's

Soon to be seen on the 405. Gavin, Moonbeam and Nancy are gonna buy every illegal alien one to get to work in.

And that weasel Bacerra will help them. And Eric Holder will lend a hand, also.

You poor bastards who can't get out are trulyfucked.

(No, there isn't one bad enough to fit).

And there you go.  Would you rather hear a sound like that going by your home or the pop, pop, pop, sound that a Royal Enfield makes with a sport muffler riding by.  I know which one I would rather hear.  ;)

Speaking of traveling at 15 mph, here is the latest EV that won't go much faster.  ::)  2kW is not a lot of power, I believe.  ;)  Not sure about the sound level, but it probably isn't very high, unless Vespa attaches some playing cards to its spokes.  :-*

2KW is equal to 2.68 horsepower if everything is 100% efficient.

Of course, electric motors and controls are not 100% efficient so the actual power is undoubtedly less.

On the positive side, electric motors make their highest torque at low rpm so the acceleration might be better than the 2KW (or 4KW max) power of the batteries would seem to be able to give.

On a sunday walk i've been overtaken by one of these mono-wheel scooters making easily something like 15mph on gravel. Wonder what would have happened if a slightly bigger stone would have gotten in its way.  ;D

The technology affine part of the population around is laughing at a Royal Enfield anyway, so as you see I don't care much about not getting embarrassed. However if a mono-wheel were to overtake me on my bike on the road it would certainly be somewhat anoying.

This little girl is real cute on her little monowheel saving the world from the horrible cars and motorcycles, but I'm sure she goes no great distance on the silly thing. But, of course, that's not what it's for, I guess. It's just the inevitable progression from the Segue and the motorized skate boards of many years ago.

I'd rather stay off the sidewalk and ride sitting down thank you very much  :) :) :o(http://)

BTW, single wheel motorcycles have been out there for many, many years. There is no new thing under the sun; just evolving and improvements on stuff that's been around for years.

...and here you have it, how long till full scale races are set up to perfect this technology? and how long till they beat the human drivers on the race track where you have fairly predictable conditions?

not too long I think and the human racer might be "obsolete". Don't Think IOM TT or MotoGP will stop because of that.
