Welcome back, Bill.  I missed you and your lively contribution.  Hard to believe there is one nut causing your discomfort.

Hope your health issues get resolved soon.

Also hope you'll be posting more videos.  As I've mentioned before, I enjoy the views of the Australian countryside as much as you commentary!

Cheers, John

Yes, welcome back Bill. I have been following your KTM 390 Adventure videos, as last month I bought a new 2020 KTM 390 Duke. It is the first KTM I have ever owned. But it was kind of pricey at $6,800 USD, which included a $500 setup fee and $800 for shipping. That is the most I have ever paid for those fees for any motorcycle that I have ever bought before, including 8 new BMW motorcycle purchases.  :(

I like the bike, but I do notice that the engine is bit weak below 4K rpm.  However, what really irritates me is the poor throttle response at low throttle openings. It makes it tough to ride at slow speed around town. The engine kind of bounces back and forth and reminds me a bit of a old two-stroke engine running on a light load. Above 4K rpm and under a load, the engine runs very well and is quite smooth. I guess it is suffering from a lean emission condition. Perhaps a Booster Plug might be in its future after the initial servicing has been accomplished.

So far the only accessories that I have installed is a Puig dark windshield and KTM seat luggage.

Now that you have your 390 nice and dirty Bill, how about a video showing what it takes to clean the bike.  ;)

That is one thing that I like about my Bullet, it is really easy to clean after a ride through rain or down a dirt road. However, these KTM bikes might be fun to ride but sure do not look like they are going to be much fun to keep clean.  ;)

Thanks to all of the above for their positive comments and over-all I didn't expect them BUT I do respect them. Like I said in my earlier thread  I plan to conduct myself in a more controlled way and have taken all what was written into a/c and hold no bad feeling against any member-regardless of comment.

After-all i have more important health issues that I must get through rather than bare a grudge from a few words of text.
So on a more positive note I will work on trying to restore some of the threads I childishly removed when I threw in the towel and see if i can get some info back to the forum which in the future may help others.

Back when I joined in 012 I recall two members in particular who always helped me time and time again. one was a member called BARE and the other DUCATI-SCOTTY. in those days the C5's were riddled with problems unlike the later bikes.
If it wasn't for these guys I would have quit Enfield after that very first bike and gone Japanese.

Those two have long gone and move onto different bikes and 8 years later I guess I am still here. I now look at it this way. if one of my threads helps just one person-then one person is far better than none at all!

Story goes -You cant teach an old dog new tricks BUT you may be able to teach them to think differently!
