Title: C5's Solo Seat
Post by: wildbill on April 25, 2013, 02:05:35 am
just wondering if it would be possible to fit two softer rear springs to the underside of the c5's solo seat - or would it be a full out custom made job

Check the chopper parts sites.  You can get taller, shorter, stiffer, and softer springs with mounts.

MFG offers a shorter spring set to lower your seat about 2.5", but I don't know if they're any softer.
Since they only lower the seat, I suspect they're just as stiff.

The springs in the lowering kit are just as stiff. I pulled them off and put the stock springs (and shocks) back on the bike, and it rides a lot smoother--though after 45 minutes in the seat it feels like a rock anyway. I want to get a custom seat that will be comfortable on long rides; but I haven't found one yet. There is a guy in Albany Oregon that makes custom seats, but they are very expensive, and patterned after your own rump--you keep going back to him until the seat fits just right, no extra charge. www.mredsmoto.com .
