Yeah exactly, trade the 20% fuel saving for 20% less income, increse the cost of fuel and send the money to arabia so that they can trade their prosches for ferraris down there and our commies can lock us down and buy ferraris too. Perfect!

Wow, derottone. You figured out the plan. Smart guy.  ;)

...or what about a couple of free busses for the wedding of the transport ministers doughter in some banana republic? Oh, the "follow the f§$%ing order" employees already left the company? Aha, after following the order and being blackmailed out of course. Wow, laughable.  ;D ;D ;D

Collected my repaired Motad muffler from the exhaust guy today. He did a reasonable job of knocking the dents out and fabricated new mounts. Also repacked the baffle while the end was cut off. Finished with a bit of a clean. It's not perfect but it's better than it was. Maybe a good excuse to buy a polishing wheel for my bench grinder. The cost was OK. More than an Emgo but less than a replacement good quality stainless one.

If it cost less than an Emgo, it was a good deal. Plus, you end up with something you like.

Yesterday we hit 75 degrees here. Got in a quick 45 mile ride. The GT is over 500 miles now! I would like to get in some longer runs to at least get 1000 miles on the clock.

Cheers. Yes, he did a good job. I'm happy with it.

Ha, I could have bought 3 Emgos and had a some change for what the repair cost. But like you said, it's nice to have what you want. If he couldn't have fixed it, I'd have gone for a Cone Engineering reverse cone. That would've cost a lot more so I think it was a good choice to fix the one I have.

The latest OEM rods don't have a bronze wrist pin/little end bush, I gather, the pin runs directly in the steel. Looks better than the Electra-X ones I have seen, where the bronze bushes were bored off-center!

A.

I have the one without the wrist pin bush presently in the bike. So far it works, nevertheless I don't mind having one spare crank.

My new handlebar came in the post today (on a Saturday!) also new bar end mirrors and an air filter element. I'm about ready to reassemble this bike. Happy days.

I'd finished knocking dents and smoothing my GT's side panel in preparation for paint and luckily (I thought) I still had an unused aerosol can of touch-up paint that came with the bike. The moment I pressed the button to start spraying, I knew I was in for it. A bit of paint came out the nozzle. A LOT of paint came spewing out from underneath the spray cap, going in all directions. Had to beat a hasty retreat from the spraying area and get the can into a wheelie bin to contain the paint, which once going would not stop. I'll see if I can recover the paint, once the propellant has discharged, and use it in a touchup gun. Otherwise, I'll have to see if I can get a colour match at the paint shop.

Very short sighted, profit now. If they fool you once they believe that's best. But, they can't grasp the idea of long term commitment to quality and customer support is the foundation of good business that makes continuing profit.
