I have some German 5 Liter gas cans like this.

( Not my pics, these are better than my phone cam can take)
Any ideas what font the lettering is ?

Kraftstoff is "Fuel" for an engine. Feuergefahrlick is "Inflammable" or "Fire Hazard".
-
Correct, but what type style is the font ?
-
It's not the standard DIN 1451 adopted in 1938 which is found on most cans. Similar, but the long tailed "f" isn't standard nor is the sort of flat/not curved "r".
I'd figure post-war commercial?

Modern Krafstroff typeface is pretty darn close.

O.k. I found a way to get half decent pics.
These will get stenciled "Benzin fur motorrad"

To differentiate from "Wasser"?

To differentiate from "Wasser"?
Nein.
Irischer whisky ;D
Just kidding. The one for water will just get a big white cross painted on it and no stencil.
