Had my Interceptor for a couple years but it’s still pretty new.  Just over 3000kms on it and I’m noticing a noise at shutoff.  Maybe it’s always been there and I haven’t notice until now or it just started happening…

After flipping he kill switch, there’s a 10-15 second long hum sound and then I hear a “pop” sound coming from under the seat behind the side panels. Similar to the sound of a gas pilot light igniting.

Anyone hear something similar on their 650 twins
or know what it might be?
I'm not sure I've seen anyone write that they, too, have heard a 10~15 second hum.

Mine does that. Pretty sure it's a relay clicking about 15 seconds after the bike shuts off.
Reason I'm thinking this is because the tone of the "click" changed after I replaced my relays with Panasonics.
Gone 'n 60,  is it a click that happens 15 seconds later or a series of multiple rapid clicks that goes on for 15 second?

@ryguy76, is your bike a EU4 or a EU5?
I have a EU4 bike and can not replicate the symptom you describe. My guess continues to be that the key-on leaves the fuel pump on until a pressure sensor shuts it down because no fuel is being consumed.

I nod to everyone regardless of what bike they ride, even L plates get a nod from me and most of the time I get a nod back (including GS's and HD's). To me it is a basic bike courtesy, just like stopping to help biker in need.

Genuine RE seat, please. Condition not important, primarily interested in the pan for a project.

I use my kill switch rolling up into my garage too. Or the sidestand switch. The sky hasn't fallen.

On my original relays, it was a pretty loud click, didn't sound electrical to me either. If you're still on the stock relays, here's something you might want to try, just for kicks. Try swapping them around. Maybe the one that performs that function after shut-down is louder than another. I can't think of anything else that might make that sound after you turn off the bike.

Nothing I'd worry about.

Ya, definitely could be a relay, but sounds almost too loud for it to be an electrical noise but certainly coming from the area there are relays…. Interesting.

I recently installed a TripMachine Wingman bag on either side and had to push the wiring loom some to get the bracket installed on the left side of the bike.  Pretty sureI’ve only noticed the noise since doing that now that I think about it so wondering if I’ve perhaps shifted something that has exacerbated the noise.
