I survived the cold war, Y2K, Swine flu, Bird flu,9/11 and Mad cow disease. 2012? Bring it on. :D
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

About the sink hole, I refer you to John McPhee's Assembling California, if you have any interest in geology.

As far as the rest, no comment, more of the same, but I'm sure we'd have a good chat over a drink. Ca. has some fine beers and wines.

The Mayan calender and the gear wheel thing that goes with it stops working at 2012. Their prophecy ends as well with a prediction of some sort of  super change or the like.
If something epic does happen then we will witness history.

Y2K was supposed to be the end. My neighbors went nuts prepping for it. The donated heavily to the local food banks a year later.

My hope is that rather than scramble in fear folks will plant a garden "just in case" and in the process discover how good home grown tomatoes are. If concern causes them to be reminded how important and authentically valuable family and friends are,,,,then let er rip  ;)

I have a friend that went all "new age."  He told me 2012 already happened because our modern calender is off by a few years.  He said we made it.  Good won, and evil is dying.  I guess we can pop the Champagne?

I was at least hoping ET would show up or at the very least a dolphin would poke his head up from the sea and say, "hello."

The dolphins left already. I think they said "Thanks for the fish"
