Bare, have you considered a Yamaha FJR, Aprilia Mana or that new Honda V-Twin sport tourer? They all come with automatic transmissions. No shifter to hang up on.
No, I,ve had enough of the Sport (tourers) YZF1000R, probably my fav out of all the bikes I've owned, a couple of Honda CBR900s ( the 929 would never qualify as a tourer!) Triumph Speed Triple and Sprint RS. 20 years ago I had the "new" Honda Tourer, We called it a Super Hawk then. Mine had a bit of go fast stuff on it, really nice bike. Other than a bore job and more plastic to bash in a get off, the biike is the same as it was. They have been on the market in other countries continuously. In Jolly Olde, they're called Deauvilles. Do the new ones still have shaft drive? I could get out my mag and look, but I'm far to lazy. As I get old and feeble, I need something I can pick up when I drop it. Most of that stuff is too tall, too heavy or top heavy. I can still do the Bullet by myself. Important consideration. I thought about the new Honda 250, but I came into this sport on English thumpers, may as well go out that way. And I've been wanting a Bullet for years, so I figured it was time to jump on it. Kinda goes along with my fav airplanes, old homebuilt biplanes, Mongs, Smith Miniplanes, Pitts, Stardusters, even PT-17s are fun, but kinda like trucks. Call them the Harleys of the old bipes.
