That's funny - I know Hillbillies who wouldn't know the difference, too ...... and for the record - 'possums can be VERY friendly if you feed 'em good and scratch their little heads .....  ::)

Yep, a good hair slick um,  8)  but it goes rancid in the heat of the noon day sun.   :P (I vaguely remember sunshine.)

They bumble around on my porch at night stealing dog food, My little one eyed bulldog gets pretty rude with them over that. :D

Hahaha! "Bumbling around" is a good description of how they move about! They sure don't get in a hurry - and because of that, they are pretty easy to catch. Usually, once you have 'em in hand, they relax and "play 'possum" ...... I had one scare the sh!t out of me in my garage in WV - actually, we scared the sh!t out of each other. He came out from under the bike I was going to ride as I walked up to it .... we both went "EEK!" at the same time! Hahaha! He played dead, though, so I put him back up in the tree in the front yard. I think he took that to mean I was going to take him to raise, as EVERY time I'd go out out on the deck to sit and have a beer or ten, he'd be there begging .... Hahaha! He liked to sit on me and eat grapes .... Go figger ...  ::)

Don´t tell your kids (or grandkids) - Heidi is now the most beloved animal on the planet (for anybody under the age of 12). So possums are short before getting sacrosanct.
