  Looks pretty good.  Only thought I have is I'd have to make it a hand shift of some type.  But that's small on the problem index.

  Sure the plan is in the making, but this is here right now.  And probably very cheaply had, just an idea.

Looks like the only thing left to do on that bike is rear brake pedal relocation.  Kind of a weird detail to leave out after all that work.  It's a good combo,and looks factory. Is the twin drum front brake factory?

Agreed on all accounts - That IS a nice looker ...... I'd like to see it up close. You KNOW it'll go cheap, too .....  ;)

Looks familiar, don't think i would have stuffed a xs650 motor in a real '58 though.

I agree - THAT'S what'll make it cheap, tho ..... I'm all about 'riginal, 'Riginal 'RIGINAL! - but I'm betting that bike would be a pretty fun ride - and - it doesn't look like it butchered TOO much to where a feller couldn't put it back to 'riginal if'n he tool a notion ....

I'm holding out for the 1948 RE WD/CO with a Yamaha RD350 engine stuffed into it.

 ::) ??? ::)

Now Ace that would be ridiculous unless you could go back in time to 1948 London with this RD RE. People would be running for the hills and fainting in the streets after witnessing terrifying acts of lengthy wheelie stands and power burnouts to the horrific sounds of bees emanating from the exhaust of this possessed beast. This demonic display would end with most pissing themselves.

Rocker bike on steroids!

I wonder if this guy has the original motor/gearbox for that '58. It would definitely make it easier to pull the trigger.

...nah...I'll just be watching this one...I'm either gonna put a Super Meteor engine in the '99 Enfield frame,or buy a 1971 Triumph 650 Tiger,locally...one owner,low miles,garage kept...it kicked back, and broke the owner's ankle;now he hates it,and wants to sell it...he's in his 60's,and wants to see it go to a good home...I'll post some pix if I get it...

I'd go with the Triumph,mine is a T100sr  500. Its easy to start, goes like the wind,  tracks on rails in turns,and looks great. Original is a better investment too. I would'nt mine owning a 70's xs 650 Yamaha though(original).

...yeah,I'm leaning that way...my Dad bought a BRAND NEW Triumph Tiger  in 1973,the first year that it was a 750...blue and white...like a Bonneville with one carb...just like the one I'm thinking about...we loved it,and I'll probably get this Tiger...I'm going to look at it tomorrow...but I WILL be watching the "58",with the Yamaha engine...it IS cool...

Just had a thought on the left shifter and left brake mystery. The original rider may be missing his right leg. Went through this 30 years ago with a vet who was missing his left calf and foot. Just mounted the brake pedal on the right of his Bonnie.

I think 3050 is an excellent price for that bike. That was the winning bid.
