Hate to do it but she's got to go. My condo passed a law that will fine me $500 every time you get caught doing maintenance on a car or bike. This includes oil changes even. Lots of oldies in here! I've got the Air Filter Box removed right now so I don't know if it is worth risking the fine (we have cameras) to put it on, so you might get your first project the first day you have the bike. Here are the details:

2007 Classic with Iron Barrel.
Less than 500 miles on it.
Black and Tan
Tan solo seat, will provide original if you want
Never has been over 35 MPH. I live in the city and have been sticking to the break in plan.
Has been in underground garage when not in use.
It required a little work when I bought it new out of storage and I will show you the work I had done to it by a local mechanic guys on here use (timing was off, clogged carb).

$3000 if you are out of state and need to ship, $3500 local.

I would move and keep the bike.. No one needs to put up with that type of crap... >:(

Maybe you can just do the work in your living room..

What a load of crap! I lived in a condo for 2 years, surrounded by old farts with nothing better to do than peek out windows and report you. The nazi's used to call the cops whenever they felt i was speeding inside the association.

Move out and dump your used oil in their flower bed!

You can't put up with that crap!!!  Ride the bike up the stairs and into the living room, take off the muffler and rev it up a bit.

Ya,  here a person can choose to buy into a deed restricted community..  A lot of them have gates, lawn crews and big restrictions on paint and maintenance.  Since you sign into a contract when you buy your crib you are stuck with what the "board" likes..  Here in Florida if you do not pay your dues the association can seize your house.

We have one association about a mile from my house that has a lawyer on the board that has seized so many homes (4 or 5) out of 20 that they hired a management company to rent them out and now the association is making a profit and paying money back to residence...

I lived in one once,  will never do that again....

yeah but what can he really do...I've been in those florida gated communities and they are impeccable...Fees are in the 300-400 a month range and its apparent they do not want you changing oil in the street or the driveway...In talking with the residence u can work in your garage out of sight (if u have one)...Its a losing proposition for retrorider to think that he's going to win his batltle..Best to sell or move...Sorry but that's the way it goes in this case..Remember its a private club and the majority have spoken..

There are rules posted, but they're willingly, -no-, encouraged to be broken. That's what I'm asking abot. Which is it?

The rules are a living breathing document, subject to interpretation...  Surely the founders of this forum could not anticipate that even though human nature does not change the society of posters must be allowed to evolve....

But then again I could just be blowing smoke out my ass...... :P

well we all toot our horn on occasion...rules being broken,,well i can only think about that one person who apparently stretch the rules too far...I think he's in the penalty box..From what I read California is getting tough on extreme mods in general..Is it mostly in the cities or is it the entire state??  would fireballing a iron be illegal there??

I'd be willing to bet a six pack that a decently tuned Fireball runs cleaner than than the average Iron Barrel.

Yup. Stock iron barrel.

REson I say that is the Fireball with its higher combustion efficiency should be burning off more of the hydrocarbons due to its higher combustion chamber temperatures.

I've been out of town. Sorry for not getting back to you guys sooner. Leaving again in the morning! The story from the condo board is that the association owns the parking lot and we do not own the deed to the spot like some other buildings do it. We do have an assigned spot but we do not technically own it.....just lease it for a penny a month or something. Needless to say my unit in the building is for sale too! I think I've got a better chance of selling an ice cube in Siberia than a condo in ATL right now though! Thanks for the emails I have received from a few of you!

Hi All:
In Real Estate Lingo, written agreements you sign before you buy into an association, are called Protective Covenants. They are written to keep the majority of the owners free from unwelcome changes when new people buy into the association. Sounds like one you needed to sign before buying or moving into the Condo Association you entered.

Read them before you sign them ! ! ! !. I live in a private association and I had to sign one of them too. But mine is not as restrictive as yours. I can't keep un-used cars and boats at my place. No pets etc. In general, it's usually better with covenants. Then some slob can't move in next door and crap up his place and yours by association. Just my tuppence.
