The "basic" Bullet will be $5495 in the USA?  Wow, that's $1k less than the C5.  What has been changed or cheapened or left off to make that happen?

Simply the economy of scale .... The classic Iron Barrel frame has LONG since returned its tooling and die costs - and black paint is cheap! I'm sure that nothing has been "left out" - It's ALL Enfield - and all REAL Bullet!
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

Where are you getting the pricing information from?   Is thsi model already listed on your US RE site.......if so I don't see it , and it isn't on the Canadian site yet (though it hasn't reallly changed for many months)   Nigel.

At a price point of $5500 the new Bullet will definitely be a better seller than the G5 or C5.  It will attract some attention away from, say, the new Honda CBR-250R due this Spring.

At that price point I might have considered it instead of the C5.  But I'm happy with the C5 as things seem to be sorted out now.

Hell,
I hope that they get back down to the $4395.00 price point.  :D

I still think I would pick the C5 over the new bullet because I don't like the double seat and the more squarish rear fender.  I also love the color and prefer the 2 tone tank and more subtle tank graphics of the C5.  Still, it would have made it much tough to justify the extra $1000.

I think bringing the price point down will do wonders for sales.  It's the best of the best: classic styling, classic price, modern reliable engine.

Amen to that, but I still can't see where you are all getting the pricing from :  Did I miss something?    Nigel

Nigel -

On the RE blog www.royalenfields.com, Dave Blasco had a phone interview with the Big Guy at RE...

This price point is for the "new" Bullet 500 -

Quote says: "...the Bullet 500 looks like a throwback to the beloved 350cc Bullet in production in India for 50 years." ..."The new Bullet 500 unveiled in New York will start at $5,495, he said. It will be an entry level bike, available in black only, and there will be limited numbers of them, he added."

Interview also confirms the probablility of a parallel twin...

I still want to see a chrome/silver/black combination, like the old Triumph T100's.  Black frame and hand-holds, silver fender paint, boxes, and tank panel of chromed tank. Sharp!

I ran across this pic in the gallery today:

While the new C5 Deluxe pics haven't thrilled me this bike looks really cool.  I'll have to see one of those shiny C5s in person when they arrive.

Is that seat the classic comfort model that is shown in the store? Anyone have experience with it?
Very nice looking bike!
