Hey,
I thought I would ask your opinions on what color to have the bodywork painted on my Race Bike. I have the front mini fairing and the rear tail section that are getting drop off to my friend to paint on Wednesday. I was just going to have one solid color on the pieces and then the yellow number plates in the plate area's. He suggested British Racing Green, as its a British bike. I am kind of leaning towards that, but I wanted some other opinions. What do you guys think? The red circled area's are where it needs to be yellow, the rest is the painted area's.

Seems almost a shame to cover up that metal...what about Brit green on the fairing (aside from the yellow) and maybe a stripe of it going over the tank/tail rather than covering it all up?

I had a bicycle done in a translucent metallic emerald powdercoat over raw metal which looked insanely good.

By the way, there's a lot of superstition against painting vehicles BRG, especially motorcycles...

Maybe a metallic orange if not green?

MD

The tank won't be painted, just the bodywork.

Black with gold pinstripes, ala John Player Special. It's design is too old for bright colors, It's vintage racing, look the part. My $.02

Well, white and blue are the U.S. racing colors. Can be rather striking with some imagination. The bike does have a Brit heritage,of course. What about the Indian aspect, though? What are the Indian colors?

Some quick, basic color concepts for the imagination.  I'm partial to royal blue as it goes well with yellow and alloy.

Cream and brit green in a stripe or half-half spit look nice.

Or what about checkers or another pattern, like concentric rings on the front/lateral stripes on back?  If they were yellow and black, continuing the number plate pattern, you'd look rather WWI bi-plane/hornet-like...

Or, yellow with a really dark green instead of black.

Maybe look at some pics of old SPADs or Sopwith Camel squadron paintjobs for inspiration?

Hmmm...I am kind of digging a BRG or a dark green with gold stripes running down the middle.

76 Orange w/dk blue or white striping (fat center stripe flanked by thin stripes) would look great with the tank. You definitely would stand out from the rest.

I really like the antique white/ cream that they have on some of the new minis. That with some dark stripes could be very classy...

Here is your dark green and yellow stripe.  I like the single stripe matching the number plate.  Looks bold and serious. (the green would be nicer a few shades darker).

Your seat will just be a pad that rises up to that edge imagine.  Black?

Actually I just ran no pad whatsoever on the seat. Just my skinny ass on the fiberglass.  :D I think I may run a small bit of foam this year, but just right in the lower seat area only.

My vote is red with a yellow stripe. Don't forget the "WiseAss" decal!

I assume this means you're campaigning in the 2011 AHRMA season?

How about Magic Black from the Sixty-5 series bikes with gold stripes. Looks Black in the shade but but when the sunlight hits it you see the deepest metallic green. CLASSY, UNDERSTATED & TRADITIONAL with a touch of menace (>:() just below the surface. Joe

Wise Ass decals will be made up. I am planning on running the Wera series, lots of races closer to me and some tracks I haven't ran on in a while.

Black and gold sounds good, just like Dad's commando Pittsburgh Steelers. Keep 'em coming!

Just had to do it. It was right there for the taking.  ;)

Black and one golden stripe - be serious! You won´t paint the bike like a car in Brg, won´t ya?

Ok, today is the day I drop the stuff off. With Black and gold ruled out, because of the Steelers comment, I think it may come out BRG with a gold stripe or two.
