Mine came with B8ES and my the plug cap does indeed have an integral resistor.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

I got the spark off, I noticed when starting I don't see a spark and the plug was pretty dirty so I cleaned it off with sand paper, still no spark. I got an NGK B9ES and BR9ES, neither fit into the HL cap like the stock one does, in other words it doesn't "snap": into place. Any ideas?

You have to remove the terminal on the end of the plug. It threads off. Look at the one you took out.

I did remove it, the replacement spark is a just a bit longer and a little thinner. It doesn't snap into place. Should I see I blue spark if I try to ES with the spark remove but attached to the cap?

It needs to ground, so with the cap on, just lay the plug on that flat area of the head, and THEN try it.
