....... Genuine Imitation, Semi-Halfway, almost, but not quite, a REAL Royal Enfield .....
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

More like a turducken: EFI & hydraulic valves, stuffed into a newer motor design, stuffed into the same chasis from the mid fifties.  With a decent oil pump and disc brake seasoning sprinkled on top.

To the people that can't comprehend the idea of the Enfield, I would carefully explain, "I am a time traveler tasked with picking up artifacts from different eras. I took the bike from 1949. In this era I have to pick up an idiot. Would you like to go for a ride?

My favorite is when, looking at tank, they ask me who makes it.

I have been asked different questions depending on who is asking it.

A guy from India looked at my bike and at the gas tank with large golden RE written on it says "Did you paint the words Royal Enfield on the tank ?"  ;D.  He had never seen a RE in US and could not believe that anyone can buy it here in US !

Another gentleman, an experienced rider on a Japanese bike looks at my black G5 carefully and says "Is it Norton ?"  Because he remembered black Nortons in the past.

Irrespective of what they ask - it has been, in my experience, always a warm joyful curiosity on their face that brings grin on the face of RE owner  :D.

My favourite moment is still the old Scottish lady I caught scrutinizing my wheels in a parking lot.  "I was lewkin' at yer tyres tae see if they were British!"
