Winner!!!
the first muscle car eight years before the GTO. It had the second highest power-to-weight ratio of any American production car. Contemporary road tests verified the Golden Hawk was faster/quicker in the 1/4 mile than the Corvette, Thunderbird and Chrysler 300B. In top speed, only the Chrysler 300B could equal it.

I had one.

Dunno. But,and pleez don't  judge me as a wise guy but Stude's biggest v8 in 1957 was 289 cu inches, heads and block cast in house.Crank was forged steel as were the con rods. The largest V8 engine Studebaker ever put into production was the 304.5 cu in engines designated R3 and R4.All were assembled at Andy Granitelis' shop in Ca.All R3 engines were dyno tested to 435 hp.One of the Stude club members has a turbo charged custom Studebaker V8 that has shown 900+ hp.

I trust your numbers more. Most likely I had the displacement confused as the Hawk mobile was just one example in a parade of cars that flowed through his house like river of tasty automotive exotica.
