This is the skinniest of the forums I visit.  Is it set for 480 or 800 pixel width?

Would it be possible to widen the screen presentation to allow for better photo images and larger fonts?  It doesn't fill one-half of the width of my LCD screen, which is 1920 pixels.  Most of us are way beyond 800 pixels nowadays.

What might be keeping the present format as is it is?

LOL not old philosophy so much as old design.

This will definitely be addressed the next time our site is redesigned. Our options are somewhat limited, but I'll also look and see if there's something I can do sooner.
What wouldn't you not do if you didn't know you wouldn't fail?

If you hold the "Ctrl" key down on your keyboard and spin the wheel on your mouse you can widen (or shrink) the page to fit your monitor.

That's a nice fix, but it makes the fonts larger as well as photos, which get fuzzy after a few extra spins of the wheel.

In other words, you lose content on the page.

Brett, thanks for considering the request!

If you're feeling like doing some hacking you could add a custom CSS style for this site in your browser (pretty sure at least Firefox can do this...), this rule should get you a full width forum (might look a little funky but should work):

.bodyTable > tbody > tr > td > table { width: 100% !important; }

But I read this on my computer, Ipad and phone. Fixing the site would be better. Hope it happens.

I thought the forum was set this way in tribute to the standard web designs of the Bullet's first years of production...
