true bob , i have proved it before , not sure about the claimed 30psi tho

this is a 12 psi switch , yup it came on on a hot tickover??

my (personal) answer , was to enlarge the semrat feed holes , drill a small hole in the top casting and to cut.file a groove to alow the oil to flow , this was after fitting high capacity pumps ,

american opinions please?

Freddy - I agree with your fix to lube the top end. It is a little bit weak there on the Iron Barrel. One must remember that the Iron Barrel doesn't need a lot of pressure in the stock form - just flow .... I believe that most of them have that. I've heard of GREAT improvements in both pressure and flow with the stock pumps by merely matching up the holes in the pump cavities to the pump bodies. Oiling IS the place to start on the modifications for an Iron Barrel, tho .....

This was supposed to be an academic discussion on the theory and practice of carburettor heaters. How have we managed to get diverted into the black slimy stuff.

Shall we discuss oil v ATF? :D :D :D
