Bought mine here in New York in March of '08. The dealer had about eight Bullets on display. Classics, DeLuxes, a Military and a couple of AVL Electras but just one Sixty-5 (in Magic Black). Love at first sight. Sigh. ::)

so, what is the diff between a sixty-5 & a deluxe?
The computer can't tell you the emotional story. It can give you the exact mathematical design, but what's missing is the eyebrows. FZ

Bought mine in Sept. 09 from R&D Enfield, Westminster, South Carolina. 2004 Magic Black Sixty-5 sitting among all the new models. Had been there for 5 years, never purchased, only ridden by the dealer for 17 miles. ;D

Bought mine February of 2007. Magic black and love the 60's look. I guess it fits my time period better then the classic. Love em all though.

Bought my bullet 65 in Oct. 2004 from Mitches Classic Motorcycles near Dartmouth College in NH. It was delivered on Nov. 4 of that year and I was able to register it and ride it the following spring. I did some of the breakin that fall but got into riding seriously in 2005. I had the mud guards removed in favor of chrome and also installed a solo seat. I've installed a side stand and oval rack on the rear fender where the pillion would go. After a few years of riding I removed the electric start with all the parts that go to it, due to failures of the sprag clutches. I've also installed the 30 mm flatslide carb and the 50s exhaust and muffler. The catch can and it's stuff has been removed and the crankcase is now vented through a duckbill at the very rear of the bike at the license plate bracket.

I've got over 13,000 miles on the bike and I've also pulled the head and ground the valves and cleaned the carbon out. Compression is now very good, better than when it was new. To assist with kick starts I've installed an electronic ignition and a manual decompressor. The alternator failed about 2,000 miles ago and I installed the european higher output alternator. I guess that's about it. I love the bike and have spent quite a bit of time working and fixing it the way I want it. I also own a Honda VLX 600 V twin. Enfield is for riding around the back roads and the Honda is for when I have to get somewhere in a hurry and take higher speed roads to do it.

here is my 2006--65. Looks good but the credit goes to Vince, as it is just the way it appeared on his show room floor. Followed the break in procedure, but now that I'm over 2000 miles I have a tendency to be a bit fast. ( 60-65) .
It's fun to run at those speeds, but Vince in his kind way has cautioned me about
the prolonged outcome. It sure is a Sweet running machine.

Mine is a 2004 that I bought slightly used in San Antonio. I like the '60's styling and unique paint jobs (mine's Magic Black). My bike suffered from some problems in the early days, but has become much more reliable over time. I had to heli-coil most of the studs for the rocker box and valve cover on the exhaust side. I presume this was due to bad metallurgy. The original drive chain was really weak. Fender, exhaust and fuel tank brackets have broken-probably poor engineering/welding. I like the 5-speed and electric start.
