Any of you folks know if you can put an early primary side cover on a late model iron barrel 5-speed electric start with the right shift conversion installed. I've seen a spacer included in the clutch positioning kit offered by CMW and I've heard a spacer is necessary. Two birds with one stone? Thanks, Joe

I think there is a clearance issue so the spacer is required.  I know the center studs are different for each.  I was going to do the exact swap on my 07' but gave up on the idea due to needing the spacer...  I am just that cheap...

What about the center stud issue, is the problem the position or size? What's the cure? Thanks, Joe.

Well,   when I did my KS only and RH shift conversion I ordered a Imperial stud to replace the metric on my 07..  The lengths were different due to the thickness of the  5spd outer cover.   I ended up tapping out the inner stud hole on the new 1964 vintage inner primary and using a chrome metric bolt to replace the stock stud setup.  It works and looks good but is not the factory setup.

I actually ordered a new outer off of fleabay from India for my RH shift.. Looks pretty decent without the capped hole.
