Easily done. NFIELD GEAR has all the parts. Trials front mudguard Z90621. Spokes Z90615 and rim Z90623 specify 21"

hichcocks are not the only suppliers in the UK , talk (don,t email) jon at tollgate classics or contact henry price (priceparts)

hichcocks list a alloy rim at £90 . which is the same price as a 19 inch one , spoke set is £25 (disk brake model)

you might find (as I did) that watsonion squires (the importers) can do those parts a lot cheaper , I got a s/steel spoke set for a rear wheel at half hichcocks ptice

Thanks for that I'll get calling on Monday.

Did you stainless the whole wheel or just the rims and spokes?

I'm not sure if I should go with an alloy (lighter?) or stainless rim. My experience tells me alloy will eventually corrode away.

Tons of old bikes with still serviceable alloy wheels out there.

Nice thing about an alloy 21 inch rim is it is lighter than its steel 19 inch counterpart.
No matter where you go, there, you are.

You will need a new ratio speedometer drive --to be accurate.

Bullet speedometers generally read a bit faster than reality.

While the indicated speed with a 21" wheel will more than likely be accurate the mileage recorded on the odometer will be less than actual.

Your using a wheel that is 2inch bigger  2 x 3.142 is 6.5 inches approx more  per revolution.

I've been quoted £370 to rebuild front and right with stainless (19+21) but I can't justify it.

Tell them you an illegal unemployed immigrant claiming social security with rights and you can not speak English so you are immediately at a disadvantage . You may also warn them of Christmas lights in their window that will insult Islamic leaders.

You are also pregnant and you need this wheel to visit you grandmother.

       You may get a discount.

That price isn't out of line for stainless rims and spokes. My experience with English rims is they are crap. You can't get them tru because they aren't straight. Maybe this company is different.

english made rims are good , tiz the italian chrome ones to watch out for , they rust overnight , why don,t you buy the rims and spokes and rebuild yourself?

i have done about 8 now , used to take all evening , now i can respoke and true up in a few hours

Yes keep at it. Every one gets quicker to a point. Except the odd lacing paterns. I have done hundreds. If I can use a bolt cutter and an electric screwdriver its a half hour job to replace a set fo spokes and a rim.

Yup --in Thailand they do it while you wait, bolt crop the hubs out and re lace while you watch. 1/2 hour later your out with 2 new wheels.   Shops everywhere doing same thing while you look at wall to wall bling.

I dont know why they change spokes so much.

ok , yust thought i would mention,

the std spokes in a rear 19 inch rim , are the perfect size  to do a ft TLS with a 21 in rim

those spokes can be bought from watsonion for about £25 in stainless steel

What's a TLS?

Lacing up wont be a problem but I'm worried about truing the wheel properly.

I think this guy is gunna get my money, should work out between £300-£350.

Wheh the inside of the hub is worn via the shoe does this mean the wheel spoked must come out (if the hub must be replaced)?

The guy is recommending I have nickle brass nipples as they don't cold weld, but I'd prefer to keep everything stainless.

Also the other url on here got back to me with a quote - £488!

If you use stainless spokes with stainless nipples you must grease them or they will lock up. His advice is good, but you can use all stainless if  you do it right.
