Lots of folks think there isn't anything worth living for.  Mad that you have something that means something to you.

Thrill seekers, overly righteous ASPCA freaks (no I don't believe in animal abuse..and will kick a$$ if I see it).  Just a basic lack of respect for others.  Too many other bad reasons to act like an idiot.  You just kind of wish the person responsible would confront you now and state the animals all need to be free.  But they never seem to recheck what they started.  Be strong....

It has nothing to do with you and everything to do with the person that did it. People are loosing their effin minds these days with their extremism and self-righteous behavior. Probably the same fruitcake that let all the lab animals loose at the university.

Scotty,

I feel for you.  Had to put my big girl down about two years ago.  Sitting there holding her while the vet injected her was one of the worst moments of my life.

I adopted another Saint from the Humane Society a few months later.  He didn't replace her but did make me feel a lot better.  Something to think about.

I'm sorry Scotty, Be careful though, sometimes removing the dog is the first step to a robbery.

On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Didn't think of that - but you probably have a point. Scotty - I am so sorry for that loss - I've had to carry the mortally wounded pet home before, too .... it's sucks. I'd think about replacing your old buddy, for the short term, with a pistol, in case r80rt is right ..... then go to the local Humane Society and give another furry friend a chance at a good life. BOTH of you will feel better ..... Take care, friend .....
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

Scotty, I' ve been reading this thread the past few days and I have felt Horrified, and saddened.  But now, Just infuriated ! ! I've been thinking what kind of sick F-ing  scumbag would do something like this? I've come to the conclusion that it is surly not a Dog lover or owner. I don't think it was, because they should  have known the pain that they would cause to the owner. Scotty, I have a Beagel, as well as 3 Jack Russells.  I only know the Beagle as a trusting ,affectionate and loving Dog. There is a special place in Hell for the Prick that did this. I know how you feel, you have truly lost a family member. Hang in there Brother. I'll say a prayer to St Francis for Ya.

I'm a little late to this, but let me add my condolences to the others, Scotty. I live out in the boonies a bit like it sounds you do, and years ago came home to find my place had been robbed and the scum bag(s) had kicked my pup in the head on their way out. He was still alive when I got home but in bad shape and the vet couldn't save him. Since then I've had 2 other dogs that both lived to age 16 and had to eventually be put down; about the hardest things I've ever had to do. We just put "Sweety" our blond lab down last January. Every bit as tough as losing any other family member. Our latest is a short-haired dachshund named "Red," and getting him really helped a lot with the heartache. I never thought I'd be a "little dog" kinda guy, but dogs like people are measured more by the size of their hearts, and in that respect Red is HUGE. When the time is right I'd encourage you, as others already have, to give another little guy or gal a place in your home and your heart.

Best wishes from Ohio,
Ed
