A video showing some real "cool dude" bee-bopping around on his shiny W800.

Can anyone hard-confirm this sucker for the U.S.?  I'm really into this machine.

sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but according to mylocal kawa dealer: no way for 2011. couldn't give away the w650 in '99 (yes, i know it is a significantly different market now) so none for us. i am up for going in on smuggling in a container load, if anyone else is interested. or mebbe just fly to buenos aires, and ride back?

Under the North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)...
If you purchase in South America, you should be able to just pay taxes to get into the U.S..

But like all things, do your homework before setting out. Something might have changed.

MAN! - That IS like porn ..... That bike is dead sexy! The proportions are pleasingly familiar and it looks "right" with the rider on it ...... I'm sending this video to India as a teaser .... I'd like to see one up close and personal .... the sad thing is I'd probably have to come HOME with the darn thing .... soft spot in the head and all. I still regret not signing up for the W650 when I did ....... D'OH!!
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

i guess its all relative... lots and lots of stuff moves back and forth across our borders without official government clearance. its been an american tradition as long as we've had american borders... and paperwork, once yer here, is only as hard as you make it.  ;)  anyway, i was more interested in the ride back from buenos aires... figured for a stop in Zihuatenejo, the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia, Los Roques, where ever seems like a good place to point and go...

It has twice as many cylinders as anyone needs!   :D

Looks cool, though.  Unlikely to make it to the USA any time soon.

If'in it makes it here, you'll see a 2 ton muffler and ape hanger bars. That bike in it's Euro style is the most comfortable to ride of any I've ever been on.

Great looking bike, it would be nice to see them sold in US. The engine is a work of art, 8-valve, FI, sounds superb. This bike would be nice cafe'd!
