What is the longest trip/tour that you have taken on your Royal Enfield?
I did the Iron Butt "National Parks Tour" on my 2001 4-speed. Longest day was about 400 miles, and the longest stretch was a big loop from St. Louis to Vegas via Rt 66 and back ziz-zagging through southern Utah and Colorado, Kansas. about 4,000 miles over 12-13 days or something.
For the entire IBA ride I lost track of the total miles for the year, but in going back and re-mapping my routes recently I think I easily did 15,000+ miles in that year. 27 states and 120-130ish National Park units visited. 3 crashes, 2 busted welds, 4 or 5 fender stays busted and countless nuts lost, wore out 3 chains and a top-end.
Now, with my new '07 iron head Military I haven't put it through such abuse yet, but I did do a ride from St. Louis to Columbus Ohio via Cincinatti in one very long day of backroad riding. About 450 miles. That ride convinced me to never do another long distance ride until I had fitted 1) a springer seat and 2) a windshield.
