Since the California bikes should be showing up very soon and I am on a dealers list to buy a C5 when they arrive I was wanting to know a bit about the 19inch wheel upgrade for the C5.  My primary objective is to beef up the front of the bike a bit and avoid the "fat guy on a little bike" look but I don't want to ruin the handling while doing it.   What's the conclusion?  How does it change the bike's handling?  And it's appearance?

Here you go Rodger, some pics for ya. Ruin the Handling? No. Alter the slower speed handling?  A Bit. Negligible though. Better all around? In my opinion, Yes!
Look better? subjective.   Look bigger?  A bit.  Feel Bigger ? yes.
I personally Love it. I think it's one of the best upgrades for the money, you can do to the C-5. I think It makes the bike MORE versatile.

Man - WHAT a great looking bike!! I'll bet it cost a fortune to have the guy build that for you  ;D Heeheehee! I love the 19" baloney on the front of the bike - it fits the fender like it's SUPPOSED to ...... That was a "roll your own" wheel wasn't it?
Spare the pig iron - spoil the part!

Na, that guy worked cheap  :D  Yes sir, that was a roll your own. A bargain it was. For about a buck fifty, plus the tire? You kidd'in?

She sure do look good!
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Thank you brother. Best part is, with that tire, it goes right in with no alteration. Plenty of clearence inside the fender.

And the slicer still fits, too.  I'm glad to hear you are happy with it.  I'm definitely going to get one now.

You picked up on that, Huh  ;)  Yea, there's still clearance with the slicer mounting screws. I ground the excess threads down to the nuts on the underside of the fender, just to feel  better. With some loc-tite of course.

It looks just right.  Believe I'll add this to the five year makeover to-do list.

SSR,
Just read your other post on this issue,  this is good news.  Hopfully an retrofit kit will be available for existing C5's in addition to the new models having one.
