I got a good used leather jacket on ebay, good brand and pretty cheap considering what it cost new. It's well worn in  but not as worn out as I am .....
Hear what you say about the cultural differences. I like that old time home grown rocker look - leather jacket, jeans and engineer boots. I stop short of the white scarf but not the shades. Not sure how well I wear it now I'm an old timer myself - friends say it suits me. Hot damn they're right too..... :D ;)

I suppose shipping to USA might add on quite a bit but they're reasonable price

They do look quality.  I like the visor wiper feature.

THIS (link) is really what I want, though.  I can find the same thing in black for less than $20 at any fleamarket, jumble, or leather shop, but brown seems unobtainable.

To me, that jacket says... Michael Jackson.

Well it is a good looking and utilitarian jacket.  I took the liberty of perusing their Website.  They make nice stuff.  I have an Outback Oilskin, I love it.  Have used it for years in all kinds of foul weather, fishing, motoring and camping.  I can see where one of these Barbour Jackets would be a good investment.
