Well, the deal is done, finally!

With Royal Enfield Seattle going to take care of the nicks and blemishes at the 600 mile check-in, I signed the papers, wrote the check, called the insurance, and rode off for 30 miles of visceral pleasure!

Tonight I'll read the manual, ride some more, and then do some other (ahem!) less important chores.

Thanks for all the support, guys.  This forum is special.

How do you expect anybody to notice the bike, when you have that gorgeous Rottweiler in the photo?

I'm a Rottie lover too.
I have a 9 yr old male that I got from Sam Houston Rottweilers as a puppy. ;D

Oh, nice bike too!
Congrats, Prof.

Well, Br. Prof, your thread's title reminds of the following old lyrics: "You're 16, you're beautiful and you're mine."

I am delighted to see that you pulled the proverbial trigger on your "Gorgeous" C5!  You capitalized the adjective.  So, is "Gorgeous" not on the short list for names for your new ride?  I run with Perla, a 2004, Iron Barrel Sixty-5.

I close with two following short on-liners, Br. Prof:

CONGRADULATIONS!!!

and

WOWZAA, BABY!!!

P.S. The following link will take you, if interested, to some 14 photos of Perla:

Perla is wonderfully beautiful, a Sixty-five that somehow looks older!

I put 54 miles on the new C5, most of it after dinner.  The "two-wheel-Tuesday" gang at Alki Beach were noticing how gorgeous the black C5 is.  Some costumed Harley types also nodded.

On the road I had a 4-cylinder Japanese bike and rider come up in the next lane, slow down a little behind me, and then zoom off at warp speed, it seemed.   :D

The low-gas warning light came on before the ride.  It took 2.9 US gallons to fill.  I'll keep track of the gas mileage.

Very relaxing ride this bike.

Royal Enfield Seattle got the rest of their bikes set up.  The C5 Military pictured below was sold today.  So now they've got a black G5, green G5, and torquoise C5.

If the C5 military had been available when I ordered my bike, I would have had a hard choice to make. Man I like it, but I like the red too! I need more money :D

Seems like there are a few Rotti lovers and owners with RE's. Can't seem to get my rottweiler to sit on my Bullet C5. I don't think she trusts me.  ;D

Heh, Karla, at 101 pounds, would not think highly of me picking her up and trying it.  Then again, my back wouldn't like it either!

Red is also my personal favorite, but judging from sales they are all about equal with the Military leading the pack.
