I sold my classic last week after a couple of years of ownership. I'm sure the new owner will have a great time with her. For now, I will focus on getting my gs in top form and finish a few more math classes that I need to get my teaching licensure. After that, hopefully a full-time position and back to the great motorcycle adventure.

I hope it's o.k. if I drop in occasionally.

Until later rideOn. What variety GS have you? I've had two one an 800 GS '86 model and one of the F650 types.

COOL!  Being a career high school math teacher, I am curious about what level of teaching you plan to be doing.

Best of success to you!

I have an '82 gs850gl. it was not in great shape when i got it. the PO tried to do a few things himself and in the process gummed up the gas tank with paint, screwed up the wiring so there were no lights. but for 300 bucks and 15k miles on the odometer.....

i have a couple of seals to replace to stop a few minor oil leaks and then i plan to polish the engine to bring out what shine it may have. a fresh paint job and oem foam for the seat and she should be good for about 100k. i plan to get a morgan sync tool ASAP. i synced the carbs with a christmas ornament hanger (not the most accurate!  :P), so the idle is a wee fuzzy.

don't you just love high demand areas like math!? i teach three GED classes in our district and as long as the feds keep pumping $$$ into adult ed., i'm staying put. other than some 16/17 year olds that get put out by the high school, i have students that (for the most part) want to be here. i will find out about a state sponsored program to get my admin certification in adult ed in september. if it sounds good, i'll probably swing that way. i need 5 more credit hours in math and should have those be october.
