¡Bueno, todas las cucarachas estan muertas! In other words: Well, all the cockroaches are dead! How do I know this? Through a PET Scan (from this past Thursday) and its review with my oncologist today. The news could not be better! I thank my oncologist, who poisoned my blood, and my radiologist, who barbecued a portion of my chest and back, for the outstanding outcome!
The next step my oncologist asked us to follow is to schedule an appointment with the surgeon to look at the possibility of removing the dead tissue masses in the lung and the three lymph nodes. This falls under the DON’T TAKE ANY CHANCES HEADING and it ensures that any microscopic cells left in these masses are outta here! This reminds me of a story. This young fellow is making arrangements for his mother-in-law’s funeral and the funeral director asks: About your mother-in-law, should we bury her, cremate her or freeze her? The young man thought for the briefest of moments and responded: Do all three; don’t take any chances!
In closing, Graciela – and the rest of our family members – joins me in thanking my doctors and all of you who sent us your positive thoughts and prayers throughout these eight months – the outpouring of love has been a very humbling and unforgettable experience!
