May be you already know, but it is new to me.  Found this article in Indian website on Norton motrocycles being made again !

Back to Future with Norton, Triumph, RE, Indian, ... what else - need BSA  ;D

They are being sold from California in US for $18,000 for Commando 961 SE.

I like it pretty well.
There are some things that seem "too new" on the bike, such as  the rear end being up so high like that.
I know that gives it modern handling, but it looks a little weird to me.

But basically, it's a pretty nice bike, even if it is more costly than the competition.
It's a Norton, and they have a good fan base, and people will buy it.

I would say it is one of my favorites of the new retro-bikes.

Somewhat reminescent of old but $18K?   Sorry I'll pass, just to weird of a rear seat height.  I'd have to go with a new Guzzi first for a Europen bike, followed by the Triumph line-up.

Good GAWD! Look at it ....... no, really .... LOOK at the engine ..... If you leaned it back a little and stood the cylinder straight up like a PROPER British Twin - it looks like the UCE Enfield engine! I'll bet it would jam in there ......  I'm sending an email ......  ;)

I've been watching the progress of these 961 Nortons for a couple of years, I like it.
On the eighth day God created the C5, and it was better looking than anything on the planet.

Hey,
The motor is sitting like a Proper Twin, all the original Commando's motor were tilted forward like that.  :D

If its anything like the Kenny' Dreer ones he was trying to make (which I think it is close too the same bike) then it is a very nice and comfortable bike. I was able to sit and drool on one about 4 years ago at Indy.

Hopefully they continue in Norton's advertising tradition  ;D

The motor looks more true to the original form than the new Triumphs do. Need a close up to really make a decision though..

Last fall Motorcycle Classics magazine featured an article on the revived Norton.
To my eye it looks like a Norton only evolved a bit.

My thoughts exactly.  YOu should see if you can score one for experiments.  Then we could make a bike called the Royal Norton.  Tag line.  "The Royal Norton, Bang Zoom, to the Moon!!"
