I know you guys dont do international news but you have  ships and 200 aircraft and 8000 personel ready for manouvers with South Korea in the morning. BBC.

North Korea says it will consider this a threat and use nuclear weapons.

Now I don't really care but this is the season of the North easterlies and I will get the nuclear fall out and I was planning on going to the beach tomorrow with next door neighbors dog "Init" and I have a pot plant ive just planted.

I was planning on a few beers it the afternoon and having a snooze, so if you could keep the noise down a bit that would be nice

You will be just fine . Lil Kim will not risk his own destruction. He is too pompous for that. Relax and enjoy your brew.

It was even on MSNBC, between a Lindsay Lohan update and the sports scores.

And get ready for the fastest sun tan you'll ever get.  North Korea has been using that same threat since I was stationed at the DMZ back in the early 1980's.  They are trying to egg the west into the first strike.  China is a big player now, to much invested in the west to let North Korea off its' chain.

I'll personally go over there and slap that little Elvis-lookin' bitch if tries anything THAT stupid ...... What a Maroon - a ROYAL Maroon!  ::)

Thanks scoot I feel much safer now!! when can you get here?

I heard a kinda rumbling noise this morning at 3am  (3pm your time America )   It was low booming noise , then it got louder and passed I in a car. One of those ear splitting boom boom cars.

Well its 10.30 now and so far so good.

But how can you bomb south Korea when you are North Korea,---bit close init?

They really don't want to bomb South Korea, they want the country for it's economy.  South Korea has become a world wide manufacturing giant.  They just want to take over a thriving economy.  Sort of like Taiwan and mainland China..we are just in their path.

Add to their frustration China not being overly enthusiastic about backing their hand and so they feel they only have one option/threat card to play.  Not that it couldn't happen but the odds are not in their favor.

What kept the U.S.A. and the U.S.S.R. from starting the "unthinkable", was the strategy called M.A.D. or "Mutually Assured Distruction."  ::) A good idea actually, "Just one missle from 'you', and we all die."   If North Korea were to blow every thing they had at us, they might get a state or two,  (A couple of million at best.)   ::) On the other hand we could literally remove their half of the penensula from the globe.  :'( The U.S. does not really want to have such a thing on its conscience.  The leaders in N. Korea will rely on that "politically correct mindset" and hope that after a couple of their best fifty kiloton "devices" we will be so traumatized that we will  just sit in a circle, hold hands and sing three verses of "Kumbaya." ::)

I hope it never happens, as I have forgotten the guitar chords to "Kumbaya."  :'(

Not a prob WillW  I like a bit of robust Anglo Saxon rhetoric meself.

Well I think its 1am now in Korea and nothing happened that I know of.

I put a plastic bag over my new potted plant just in case and shut the bedroom window.  As far as I know this is a nuclear free zone so,---- I should be OK.

Good point Br. Will.

In times past K.J.I. rattled the invasion sabre our pres. bought him off with some shipments of fuel, food and fertilizers and the crises were over.
